In 2013, Elon Musk, best known for SpaceX and Tesla, unveiled the Hyperloop concept, a means of ultra-high speed land transport through tubes. Universities and engineers the world over followed the entrepreneurial visionary’s lead and began to develop their own sealed-tube transport projects

What was for a long time little more than a far-fetched idea from the cover of a sci-fi novel is now taking shape in real-world projects. All over the world, in the United States, Europe and Asia, prototype Hyperloop capsules have demonstrated the technical feasibility of the project.
