Public private partnership and mobility: the Canadian example

Buses with hydrogen fuel cells, autonomous low-speed electric shuttles – the Canadian Urban Transit Research and Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC) strives to spur innovation and economic growth through the creation of a low-carbon smart mobility ecosystem. In an interview with McKinsey Quarterly Magazine, CUTRIC CEO Josipa Petrunic explains how it is working closely with local authorities, manufacturers, and technology companies to achieve this goal. The challenge is both to overcome bureaucratic inertia and to draw up common standards.
