MIT Technology Review asked Bill Gates to name the 10 inventions of 2019 that will improve the world. The Microsoft founder’s selection is eclectic: the Dactyl project, designed to improve robot dexterity; new-wave nuclear power, with advanced fusion and fission; a blood test to predict premature birth; a gut probe in a pill to provide non-invasive pathology detection; custom cancer vaccines; meatless, plant-based burgers; a carbon dioxide catcher; a wrist ECG; sanitation without sewers; and lastly, AI assistants using natural language.
