The Movin’On community of interest on self-driving cars, launched in spring 2020 by French insurance company MACIF and in which Leonard and 10 other companies are involved, explores in a new report the potential offered by sustainable and inclusive autonomous mobility for rural areas.

Looking at the question from the opposite angle to that traditionally adopted by the industry, in other words a mainly technological one, the 12 companies are interested in the non-technical aspects of driverless mobility (environmental and social issues, user acceptance, business model, legal and insurance-related issues, public policy, role of regions, etc.). In this instance, the urban applications usually considered have been intentionally set aside to focus instead on the potential that can be unlocked in rural areas by new mobility services.
