The Floatgen project was launched by a European consortium comprising seven partners in 2013. Floatgen is a technology demonstrator designed to test under real conditions the use of a 2 MW offshore wind turbine installed on a floating concrete foundation called Damping Pool.

The turbine and its floating foundation, a 100% French concept, were installed off Le Croisic at the offshore testing site run by the École Centrale de Nantes (SEM-REV) engineering school nine months ago. Ideol has just published the first results.
